Where Did All the Buyers Go in November 2025?
It's not Red October after all — November 2025 steals the spotlight.
Buyers quietly stepped back from some of the ASX’s favourite names this week, knocking steady trends off their perch. CBA slid after soft earnings rattled confidence. WES and JB Hi-Fi felt the pinch of cautious consumer spending.
Aristocrat (ALL) and The Lottery Corp (TLC) also stalled as investors questioned gaming growth., while WiseTech (WTC), Xero (XRO) and TechnologyOne (TNE) were swept up in the tech sell-off that mirrored Wall Street.
Pro Medicus (PME) also cooled after stretched valuations drew market scrutiny, and James Hardie (JHX) came under pressure on weaker US housing sentiment, with Qantas (QAN) facing another round of reputational turbulence.
Across the market, buyers and sellers are standing in the wings — waiting. Why?
Fading rate-cut hopes after strong jobs data, sticky inflation, softer commodity prices, and a macro cocktail of global tech weakness and geopolitical jitters.
By Friday, the ASX 200 had fallen 1.5% to 8,625, its steepest drop since September and on track for a third straight weekly loss.
Sometimes markets roar. Sometimes they whisper. This week, they whispered “not yet.”
Bitcoin also takes a hit
Even crypto couldn’t escape the gloom. Bitcoin tumbled sharply this week, spooked by broader risk-off sentiment and renewed fears that liquidity is thinning across global markets.
Is our 2026 Bitcoin Crash prediction coming sooner that we think?
